Our next location is boondocking Diamond Mountain Casino in Susanville California. Only a short drive from our last stop at Eagle Lake, we arrive to find a spacious parking lot. After doing a few laps of the lot we settle on what we think will be the best spot to setup. Although, the lot is on an incline, meaning we will have to level the RV out. We are unable to get it entirely level but close enough.

Also, this spot sits right across from a coffee shop, are we lucky or what 😊. We will get one tomorrow morning. WRONG, we awake to find a sign saying the store is closed indefinitely ☹. So, it stayed for the rest of our stay, very disappointed.

However, the light posts within the car lot have power on them allowing us to connect to shore power, which is a bonus.

Due to the current state of affairs the world has found itself in, many places are closed. The Casinos are no exception, thus the traffic within the lot is relatively light compared to what I assume it normally would be. This works out wonderfully for us, as the noise is mostly non-existent. As with any overnight stay in a parking lot, the lighting is great but that does cause a problem if your window dressings don’t block out the light. However, on the flip side you do feel safe. Boondocking Diamond Mountain Casino is a popular spot, we had other RVer’s parked for our entire stay.

This is not surprising, given that we stayed free for 5 nights. We did get a visit from the Casino to see how long we were staying.  So, I guess we were close to our limit.

Boondocking Diamond Mountain Casino Susanville

Susanville is located in the north east of California about 140 kilometres north west of Reno. It is a wonderful place to setup home base for many outdoor sports, such as, hiking, fishing, mountain biking, water sports. It has all the conveniences that your need making it an enjoyable stay. There is a laundromat in the main street, it is clean and machines worked well.

The AT&T signal was 3 bars, so no issues there and there is a gas station & mini mart adjoining the parking lot. This made it very convenient if you needed something. Boondocking Diamond Mountain Casino is worth using if you are heading through the area and need to stop overnight or for a couple of days. The only drawback is there is no dump station within Susanville.
