RIU Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco Review
Opening our 9 month trip, around the US and Canada, we indulge in an upmarket hotel, compared to our usual hotel accommodations. RIU Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco is where we will call home for the next 4 days. Why have we changed our usual priced hotels for this higher priced one, you may ask? This is because Travel Is Sweet, we wish to provide our readers with excellent information. Thus, we decided to check out this hotel for future clientele. Hence, the extra money spent for this establishment. San Francisco is a beautiful city, as such to be centrally located is a brilliant inclusion for any tourist. RIU Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco fits this to a tee as it is a short 5 minute walk (1 block) from fisherman’s wharf, also, a short 7 minutes to Pier 39.
Booking.com customers have rated the RIU Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco as an 8.4 out of 10. We found the hotel to be of high quality. You are warmly welcomed by the courteous bell hop, eager to help with your luggage. Entering the reception area, you are greeted to a modern, spacious and well appointed room filled with comfortable lounges and seats. It is back dropped by the well-stocked bar and restaurant area. Check in was fast and polite with clear instruction to our room. The hotel has 4 elevators so wait time was minimal. Public areas were clean and well maintained. While the staff we interacted with, were friendly and accommodating. The exterior of the hotel was plain, but outside there were lovely seating areas, coupled with enticing fire pits to warm your inner most being.
Our Room at RIU Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco
Upon entering our room, we are greeted to a large, spacious and clean room. Complete with 2 queens size beds, accompanied by 4 pillows per bed.
The room was well appointed with a large TV, compact refrigerator, convenient safe, toilet and shower separate to basin. Other features include iron and iron board, free in room Wi-Fi, coffee maker with coffee and tea. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and were a great place to catch up on zzzz,s after our long flight. We chose an interior room to lessen the noise but, noise wasn’t an issue for our time here. Rooms were cleaned upon request each day. We were impressed by our room and its appearance.
As stated, the RIU Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco is well situated to many of the attractions San Francisco has to offer. Being only a few minutes’ walk to Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Alcatraz, Street Cars, historic Cable Cars and many other tourist favourites. It is also close to many fine dining choices and fast food restaurants. Don’t forget to try the Clam Chowder and Dungeness Crab while visiting San Francisco.
